Erika Tazawa, piano, has worked with Mao as a Duo and Trio since 2011. An excellent pianist as a soloist as well as in ensembles.
Violin Works (Spokane WA) is owned by James Kytonen who is one of the finest Luthiers in the country and one of the few Mao trusts with her instrument.
Led by Maestro Z Kuwahara, SOA shares classical music with audiences in many counties through Georgia and South Carolina. Mao is currently serves as the Principal 2nd Violin.
Mao started her professional career as a member of the now defunct Syracuse Symphony in NY. Former members (occasionally including Mao) of the Symphony are continuing its legacy as Symphoria.
Spokane Symphony is the most active professional performing arts organization in the Inland Northwest. Mao was a member Spokane Symphony from 2011-2013.
Charleston Symphony, led by Concertmaster and Acting Artistic Director Yuriy Bekker, serves South Carolina’s Lowcountry. Mao is frequently invited to play in their concert series.
Established in 1945, Atlanta Pops plays concerts throughout Georgia. Mao joined their Holiday concert tour.
Located in the Georgia/Tennessee border, Chattanooga Symphony is another orchestra Mao frequently plays with.
Mao and Erika Tazawa first met at HSMF in 2010. In 2013, they returned as Associate Trio in residence with cellist Tatsuro Terada. Mao has also served as the concertmaster of the festival orchestra in 2012 and 2013.
Mao served as the guest concertmaster for Rome Symphony (GA) in October and December 2013.
North Georgia Chamber Symphony is based in Dahlonega GA and serves the northern georgia communities.
